1915 FRED C. CLARKE RETIREMENT 2 PAGE RESPONSE LETTER
The offered typed letter is dated September 9, 1915 on Stewart Bros. and Co. letterhead and is in response to the news that Pittsburgh Pirates manager Fred C. Clarke had announced his retirement from the game. Reads in part: "I noticed in last night's paper that you had sent in your resignation and was going to give up the game. Personally, I am very sorry but, for the interest of your family as well as your own, I think you are doing the right thing.."" The letter is signed at the conclusion by W.L.
